Ghoori Ghale Cave In Kermanshah

Ghoori Ghale Cave in Kermanshah is one of the natural and tourist attractions of Iran. One of the most important features of Ghoori Ghale Cave is its width that has gained the first place among the other ancient aquatic caves. The beautiful and sophisticated nature of the region where this cave is located has great popularity among tourists. The presence of forests of oak trees, mountain figs and wild almonds along with animals such as foxes, rabbits and wild goats that live around the cave have created a special effect in the area. This ancient cave is 12 kilometers long and more than 3 thousand meters deep. You can also see another rare section known as the Talare Aroos (Bridal Hall) that is located 1500 meters from the cave. In the Bridal Hall, the beautiful crystalline bright shiny and white stones make it the most exciting and most beautiful part of Ghoori Ghale Cave. What more than all the other features of the cave has inspired everyone's attention is the presence of four cascades at a depth of nearly 3000 meters from the cave. The ponds of this cave are up to 14 meters. Also the temperature in the cave is 7 to 11 degrees and is constant in all the seasons.

Bisotun In Kermanshah

Bisotun is geographically located on an ancient trading route in current Kermanshah which connected Iranian Great Plateau to Mesopotamia and its characters remain from prehistoric times to Median, Achaemenid, Sassanid and Ilkhanid Periods. The main inscription which is a base relief and cuneiform was constructed upon the order of Darius l when he became the king of Iran in 521 BC. This inscription shows Darius while he is carrying a bow, indicating his kingdom and walking with a figure who lies on his back. Considering different stories, that figure shows Guamata, the Median Magus and pretender to the throne, the person who Darius succeed to be the king after he was assassinated. There are about 1200 lines of inscription around the bas reliefs. They depict Darius’s battles against those governors who tried to be separated from the Empire Cyrus founded in 521- 52 BC. Three different languages are seen in the inscriptions. One of them which is believed to be the oldest, refers to the legends about the king and rebellions and is an Elamite text followed by a Babylonian version of similar stories. Due to the fact that Darius had experienced hid deeds on the last part of the inscription in the Old Persian, it has special importance.

Parau Cave In Kermanshah

Curiosity is an Inseparable part of mankind. It's the same sense that puts him on the discovery of unknowns and sets himself on a journey with an unknown ending. This cave is located 300 meters down Sheikh Ali Khan Peak or Parau Peak. It was the biggest vertical cave in the world at the time of its discovery, more than 40 years ago (1971). That was why it is called Everest of all the caves in the world. One of the precious features of Parau Cave in Kermanshah is its three thousand meters height from sea level which is the highest level from sea among all the caves in the world.

Taq-e Bostan In Kermanshah

Locating in a city called Kermanshah, Taq-e Bostan is a famous historical monument dating back to Sassanid Period about 4th century AD. Taq-e Bostan archeological site is in the heart of Mount Zagros. This attraction is a magnificent series of rock reliefs displaying many true beauties. It consists of three main parts which are investitures of Ardashir II, the big Taq and the small Taq. The big one is a masterpiece relating to the kingdom of Khosrow II and the small one is a memorial from Shapur III. This superb monument symbolizes power and glory. It is important to mention that in these reliefs music and painting were praised a lot. We could surely name Taq-e Bostan as the first relief of the world that includes the correct rules and instructions of painting. The carvings of the entrance part of the vault represent parties of the kings and governors wonderfully done by Iranian professional artists of those days. Statue of Hercules In Keranshah

Statue of Hercules is sculpted out of stone at the east-western highway of Silk Road or Great Khorasan Road in the World Heritage Area of Bistoon near Kermanshah. This statue was built in Seljuq period. Building this statue was concurrent with the conquest of the Great Medians by Arsacid. This statue was discovered in 1337 at the time of Hamedan-Kermanshah road construction. Hercules is a mythical Greek hero whose statues are often made entirely naked. Its length is 1.47 meters and the statue is sculpted on the mountain and is attached to the mountain from behind. Reliefs and inscriptions have been inscribed on the back side of the statue in ancient Greek. Relief of a lion can be seen under the statue body whose length is 200 centimeters from tail to head and its tail length is 114 centimeters.

Sarab-e Nilufar In Keranshah

Lakes are one of the natural attractions that exist in a variety of shapes around the world and have created a different landscape in nature. Sometimes these lakes are in the heart of the forest beside the trees and become a beautiful resort. Sometimes they shine like a jewel in the mountains or appear in the desert as salt lakes. Tekyeh Moaven-ol Molk In Kermanshah

Located in Kermanshah, historical Tekyeh Moaven-ol Molk dates back to Qajar dynasty about 10 years ago. This Tekyeh was built in order to be used for the religious ceremony of honoring the bravery of the 3rd Shia Imam. Unfortunately during the constitutional revolution of Iran, Tekyeh Moaven-ol Molk was ruined and then set on fire. Later that time, a clergyman bought and started to renovate it. Six years later, he added the neighboring buildings to Tekyeh moaven-ol Molk and thus two new sections called Abbasiyeh and Zeinabiyeh were constructed there. The Tekyeh is about six meters lower than the ground level so to enter you have to walk down some stairs, it owns three entrance gates which visitors could use the main door these days. Tekyeh Moaven-ol Molk got its fame because of its magnificent tile works that most artists believe that it is truly a unique example. These beautiful tiles are wonderful manifestation of architecture and tile work combination. The style and look of the tile works in this place worth spending a day just getting drowned in watching. The Traditional Bazaar in Kermanshah is one of the main sections of this city and one of the largest indoor markets in Iran and as well the largest indoor market in the Middle East at its time.
